Peoria School Wins $10,000 Music Grant

Thomas Jefferson Primary in Peoria, Illinois was recently awarded  $10,000 in grant money from the Glee Give A Note contest. The contest was sponsored by 20th Century fox and the National Association for Music Education.

To enter, music teacher Liz Smiley, Principal Patsy Santen, and several other teachers recorded a video to present their case.  Thomas Jefferson received 1,764 votes from Glee fans, or gleeks, and was a second place winner. Only 60 schools out of 400 were selected for the prize.

Congratulations!
